BluCurrent Credit Union opts for CM18 Evo cash recycler based on reliable software integration
MEBANE, NC (April 12, 2018) — In an effort to create new opportunities to serve members and improve the branch experience, BluCurrent Credit Union has selected ARCA CM18 Evo cash recyclers for its branch locations. The decision comes after the credit union experienced performance issues with technology from a different cash recycler provider.
“Originally we purchased a cash recycler from another organization and it just didn’t perform the way it was supposed to and our employees lost trust in the machine,” said BluCurrent vice president of Member Services Tim Sperr. “There were issues with data translation between the software and the cash recycler.”
“One of the strengths of our technology is its ability to integrate seamlessly with a variety of financial software platforms,” says ARCA vice president Mike Mares. “It’s one of the reasons our CM18 line of products has been so successful. They are very reliable machines.”
According to Sperr, “With the ARCA technology, we are using the same software we used with the previous machine, but everything operates much better now. We’ve had no need to make corrections or manual adjustments.”
The ARCA recyclers, which keep cash secured in a safe that’s accessible to tellers, have enabled BluCurrent to enhance their service by being open on Saturdays. “We don’t staff with a manager in the branch on Saturday so having a working vault that’s safe and secure that also gives tellers access if they need it, is great,” says Sperr.
BluCurrent is in a growth mode and will be adding another branch this year which will also be built around ARCA’s cash recycling technology. The credit union is exploring adding recyclers to its other locations as well.
Sperr says, “We’ve shifted our focus and found a good solution that we believe in. We’re interested in expanding what we can do with our ARCA recyclers. It’s an exciting time to be thinking about everything.”
